At the service of all JoCo! All of these components make up the components of the tourism industry which attract visitors to our county. Our funding is mainly provided by the 3% tourist tax paid by visitors du********* tain grants and the JoCo Hospitality Association, which is based on membership. In addition to the 3% county-wide tax, the cities of Benson, Kenly, Selma and Smithfield have adopted an additional 2% tax which is 100% dedicated to the marketing and tourism development of their cities. These funds are donated to the JCVB with separate budget items and each city appoints a tourism marketing committee to decide how to allocate these marketing dollars. Here you will find a lot of information on the operation of the Authority, our budget, our by-laws, our mission and vision statements. We hope you will find that the JCVB team and board of directors have a strong commitment and dedication to tourism development through our grant programs and believe that the prosperity of the tourism industry is vital to the Johnston County.
