Buckeye Car Wash originally began in the 1970s as an express car wash. As commercial growth on Henderson and Kenny roads developed in the 1980s, the car wash was redeveloped and became a full service car wash known as Clean-a-Car Suburban Corp, loosely related with the Klean-a-Kar brand that had been a mainstay fixture in downtown Columbus. In the early 2010s, the owner passed away and the business was passed onto his brother, who later sold it to the current ownership and re-branded it as Buckeye Car Wash. It was around this time that a number of full service car washes began to close in the Columbus area, namely one in Dublin, when that wash closed, many of its employees came to work at Buckeye Car Wash.
