In 1984, Paul Oberstar became the new owner of the Paramount Collision Center - which was originally established in 1952 at its current location in Minneapolis. Paramount's goal was to secure relationships with major insurance companies through high standards and get their customers back to their vehicles as soon as possible. This effort made Paramount Collision the first to be approved by most major insurance companies as a direct repair facility in Minneapolis-St. Paul market. Paul Oberstar would later buy Rogers Body Shop & Glass in 1988, which had locations in Plymouth and Bloomington. Rogers Body Shop debuted in Minneapolis on Lyndale Ave and moved to Bloomington. This body shop was the first to repair single body vehicles, making the workshop a preferred repair center for Toyota, BMW and Acura. The Plymouth location was the first in Minnesota to be environmentally friendly.
